How to Escape The Button Room 2
Photograph the timed code, loot the golden key, sit in the chair.
Escaping The Button Room 2 is a scavenger puzzle dressed as a chaos sim. You are not looking for a hidden corridor. You are looking for four objects, one photograph, and a chair. Players who mash every button are rolling trap tables. Players who follow this route leave with the golden key while the server is still screaming about zombies.
This is the normal ending. The secret Mecha ending is a different checklist — see how to beat the Mecha boss if you want that fight instead.
The four objects
Paper. Clue sheet. It tells you that a code exists and often hints which button reveals it. Do not sell it.
Plank. Wedge. A door or hatch on the escape line slams shut. Lay the plank so it cannot close on you mid-loot.
Camera on a stand. The code button shows digits for a short window. You will not type them from memory while a wave hits. Plant the camera, zoom, screenshot the panel, then type in peace.
Safe. The lock that eats the photographed code and contains the golden key.
Buttons can drop all four. So can the tablet shop if you have crypto-buttons. The trader converts junk into cash — sell duplicate sticks, keep the camera.
Route, in order
- Redeem codes so you have a gun and Slot Coins. A dead survivor cannot photograph anything.
- Sweep walls for the four objects using button safety. Mark dead switches with Blue Tape.
- Find the door that wants the plank. Place it immediately. If you wait, the door cycles while you are in the safe animation.
- Find the code button. It is the one that flashes digits on a timer. Do not stand in front of it hoping to memorize — use the camera. Zoom out and take a second shot if the first frame is motion-blurred.
- Type the digits into the safe. If the UI says “accepted” and nothing opens, you are on a patched interaction: re-approach, or the vault is handing a Mecha cube instead of a key (see the boss page). For the chair ending you need the golden key specifically.
- Carry the key to the lock on the exit line.
- Sit in the chair. Standing near it is not enough. The escape flag fires on sit.
Public runs show this loop in under three minutes when the drops cooperate. When they do not, buy the missing piece instead of pressing five more trap buttons.
The code is not universal
Streamers have shown strings such as 6723878103. That was their panel on that session. Treating any posted number as a permanent combination is how you lock the safe. Always photograph your own display. If a digit corrupts, spam the code button with the camera rolling until you have a clean frame.
If the safe chatters “accepted” with no key, you may have completed a different vault used for Mecha parts. Check inventory for a red cube or summoner piece and switch to the Mecha guide rather than resetting the whole run.
Combat while you puzzle
Waves do not pause for photography. Keep a Revive Card from codes. Super Potions cover the sprint from camera to safe. If skeletons or zombies own the floor, kite using speed from stat leveling rather than fighting in the doorway you just planked.
An axe opens wooden crates. Fists do not. Green corpse boxes are a separate loot table — do not waste the axe swing if you already own the camera.
Selling without sabotaging the run
The trader is a gift until you sell the plank. Crypto-buttons buy tablet orders, including armor and rifles. Rule: if an item is on the four-object list, it never goes in the sell slot. Duplicate melee junk is fair game.
Slot Coins from codes should not be dumped into luck machines until the key is in hand, unless you are specifically rolling for a Tablet or Blue Tape. See the luck machine tool.
After you sit down
The chair ending pays a small currency burst and the satisfaction of leaving. It does not delete your cards. You can rejoin and push leaderboard time or start a Mecha assemble on a fresh server. If you enjoyed the puzzle, teach the camera step — most wipes happen because someone tried to read digits during a ragdoll explosion.
For a slower, loot-heavy session, farm cards after the first escape so the second run is armed. Pair this page with Getting Started when you send it to a friend who has never opened the gear icon.
