The Button Room 2 How to Beat the Mecha Boss

Assemble three parts, win the fight, scissors on the waist key.

How to Beat the Mecha Boss

The Mecha is The Button Room 2’s advertised final boss and the reason a “I beat the game” clip sometimes looks nothing like the chair escape. You do not stumble into this fight by pressing a glowing skull. You craft a summon from three mechanical parts, survive a physics-heavy brawl, then steal a key tied to the machine’s waist.

If you only want out, use how to escape instead. This page is for the secret door.

The three parts

Community runs and comment threads agree on a consistent split:

  • Mecha summoner bottom — usually a button drop. Keep pressing useful switches with Blue Tape until the lower assembly appears.
  • Middle piece — often from a vault, crate, or a second dedicated button. If your safe says “accepted” and spits a red cube instead of a golden key, you are holding a boss component, not a failed escape.
  • Upper / top — frequently bought on the tablet. Players who only farm walls never see it. Open the tablet shop described on tools, spend crypto-buttons, and wait for delivery like any other order.

Combine all three at the marked table / assembler in the chamber. The Mecha spawns in the room with you. There is no separate instance. Warn teammates before you click combine or you will drop a boss on someone photographing a safe code.

Prep before you combine

Redeem combat-heavy codes first: GameReturn, LIKE_PLS, 50m_visits, DiscordSpecial. You want a Laser Rifle or Flamethrower, Super Potions, and at least one Revive Card.

Level defense and speed. Strength helps melee finishers but the Mecha punishes standing still more than it punishes a light swing.

Bring scissors. The key is tied to the waist with rope. Killing the boss without a cutter leaves a loot piñata you cannot open. Scissors can drop from buttons or shops — do not sell them as junk.

Clear floor traps around the arena. A ragdoll explosion mid-combo is how the fight resets.

The fight

The official description calls out unique attacks and physics-based weapons. Treat it like a wave tank with a pattern:

  • Keep moving. The slam and charge delete players who reload in place.
  • Use range. Laser, Flamethrower, and Portal Gun from the weapon tier list beat a starter stick.
  • Save Super Potions for the second half of the health bar, not the intro animation.
  • If you down, Revive Card immediately. The spawn is still in the same room — the boss will not reset because you blinked.
  • Do not press random wall buttons during the fight. You can stack a zombie wave on top of a mech.

Co-op helps. Thirty-player servers can melt the boss if everyone actually shoots. They can also steal the waist key. Call the scissors player before the last bar.

After the kill

Cut the rope. Take the key. Find the secret door, not the chair lock. Using the golden-key chair lock with the Mecha key (or vice versa) is a common confuse. The secret door is the extra hatch people miss because they already know the chair ending.

Loot any cubes attached to the corpse. Some patches attach extra modules that look like junk. Inspect before selling.

If you cannot find the upper part

You are not unlucky. You are shopping wrong. Open the tablet, scroll past potions, and order the upper assembly. Delivery arrives in a carton you unpack by flipping — a Pytox touch from the shop update. If the tablet is locked, you need a Tablet card (LuckyBlock code grants some) or a button that spawns the device.

Bottom piece still refusing to drop? You are pressing cosmetic buttons. Follow the button guide and ignore switches that only rain titles.

Why the Mecha exists

The chair ending is a puzzle. The Mecha ending is a combat exam plus a craft. Leaderboard players often run both in one night: escape for a clean time, then rejoin and summon for the secret. Cards persist. Parts may not — store them, do not drop them near the trader.

Admin events can spawn illegal bosses or skip parts. If the room is already on fire, wait for a normal server. Updates will note when an event replaces the summon.

Once you own the secret-door clear, go back to Getting Started only to send it to new friends. Your next reading should be card tiers so the second Mecha fight is shorter.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for the chamber, codes, and escape route.

How do I spawn the Mecha in The Button Room 2?

Collect bottom, middle, and upper parts, then combine them. The top is often from the tablet shop. Details are in the parts section above.

Where is the key after I win?

Tied to the Mecha's waist. Cut it with scissors, then use the secret door — not the chair lock from how to escape.

Can I solo the boss?

Yes with coded guns, potions, and defense stats. Groups just make the health bar faster.

My vault gave a cube, not a key.

That cube is likely a Mecha piece. You did not fail the escape vault — you started the boss route.
